DESCRIPTION:Lessons in Leadership is for leaders eager to grow. Join fellow CXers for a conversation with a woman leader in the community\, so you can grow in knowledge\, learn from others\, and identify ways to stretch yourself.\n\n\n\nEach session our Lessons in Leadership facilitator\, Julie Klima\, Managing Director at Midwest Center for Nonprofit Leadership at UMKC\, will interview a guest woman in leadership who will share their experience and philosophies. April's special guest is Gina Lichte\, President and CEO at Girls on the Run of Greater Kansas City.\n\n\n\nWhether you are a manager or project leader\, new entrant to the workforce with company leadership on the horizon\, an entrepreneur leading in a variety of ways\, or an executive\, you are welcome to join Lessons in Leadership. Real discussion leads to evolving mindsets and behaviors\, and CX's environment is comfortable for open discussion and sharing.\n\n\n\n\n\nGina Lichte\, an accomplished and award-winning leader with a strong commitment to advancing the mission and impact of organizations\, serves as President and Chief Executive Officer at Girls on the Run of Greater Kansas City. She is responsible for driving positive change in communities and culture while activating limitless potential in Girls on the Run stakeholders ensuring they cross finish lines\, break barriers\, and build confidence and character.\n\n\n\nIn Lichte's tenure\, the organization annually serves more than 5\,000 girls in 18 counties\, engaging more than 2\,000 volunteers and providing more than half a million dollars in scholarships. Under Lichte's leadership\, Girls on the Run KC has become the second largest council internationally and in total\, has served more than 25\,000 girls and engaged more than 6\,000 volunteers. The number of girls served each season has grown by 60% during Lichte's tenure.\n\n\n\nBefore joining Girls on the Run\, Lichte served as the Director of Leadership and Education at Women Leaders in College Sports\, a national non-profit dedicated to empowering women in college sports. Prior to joining Women Leaders\, Lichte worked in higher education administration and taught student leadership development courses. She oversaw new student orientation programming at the University of Missouri-Kansas City and before that\, at the University of Northern Colorado.\n\n\n\nA native of Lexington\, Mo.\, Lichte received her master's degree in communication studies from the University of Northern Colorado and a bachelor's degree in public relations from Northwest Missouri State University. Lichte is an advocate for education\, health and wellness\, fine arts and living your best life. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nJulie Klima is the Managing Director at the Midwest Center for Nonprofit Leadership at UMKC\, which is dedicated to enhancing performance and effectiveness in the nonprofit community through education\, research and service. Julie is a passionate advocate for a thriving nonprofit sector and has more than two decades of cross-sector experience leading teams through growth and change.
