SUMMARY:IN-PERSON | Lessons in Leadership with Julie Klima and Special Guest\, Precious Stargell Cushman
DESCRIPTION:Lessons in Leadership is for leaders eager to grow. Join fellow CXers on the 1st Tuesday every-other month for a conversation with a woman leader in the community\, so you can grow in knowledge\, learn from others\, and identify ways to stretch yourself. NEW IN 2023: Join us IN-PERSON at 5PM in February\, June and October\, then join us VIRTUALLY at Noon in April\, August and December! \n\n\n\nEach session our Lessons in Leadership facilitator\, Julie Klima\, Executive Director at Gift of Life\, will interview a guest woman in leadership who will share their experience and philosophies. February's special guest is Precious Stargell Cushman\, Chief Executive Officer at Community Linc.\n\n\n\nWhether you are a manager or project leader\, new entrant to the workforce with company leadership on the horizon\, an entrepreneur leading in a variety of ways\, or an executive\, you are welcome to join Lessons in Leadership. Real discussion leads to evolving mindsets and behaviors\, and CX's environment is comfortable for open discussion and sharing.\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\nJulie Klima is the executive director of Gift of Life\, a Kansas-based non-profit that supports the awareness and success of organ\, eye\, and tissue donation and transplant locally and around the country. With more than two decades of experience working at the intersection of customer experience\, marketing\, and technology\, Julie thrives using her breadth of nonprofit and private sector experience to add value to the community and loves learning with and from other strong female leaders.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAs CEO of Community LINC\, Precious Stargell Cushman marries the different parts of her professional career to align her passions and heart with her current role. Having an uncommon career\, she connects a financial service executive background and seasoned fundraising skills to serve as a non-profit leader. The sum of those experiences and amassed skills provides an unparalleled vantage point to help set community needs in action with the appropriate strategies and thought leadership.\n\n \n\nCommunity LINC has been at the forefront of codifying and expanding services for the most vulnerable community neighbors\, homeless households. As one of Kansas City's largest service providers focused on stabilizing\, empowering and rehousing homeless families\, Community LINC also plays a critical community role offering assessments\, supportive services and financial support to all homeless individuals. To complete Community LINC's mission to end homelessness for this generation and the next\, the organization is a community leader in the prevention and diversion of family homelessness as well as engaging efforts to provide attainable\, safe and quality home ownership opportunities as both a renovator and builder of homes.\n\n\n\nPrecious holds an M.B.A. from the University of Missouri-Kansas City and B.A. from Dartmouth College. She has held numerous board and community advocacy positions and currently serves on the board of the Greater Kansas City Coalition to End Homelessness\, Nonprofit Connect\, the Greater Kansas City United Way as well as a member of the Advisory Committee of Missouri Housing Trust.
