POSTPONED | VIRTUAL PROGRAM | Freedom Should Be Free

POSTPONED | VIRTUAL PROGRAM | Freedom Should Be Free

In this country you are innocent until proven guilty, right? Actually... not necessarily. Six out of 10 people in U.S. jails (nearly half a million people on any given day) are in pretrial detention for months or even years, waiting for a trial or to go before a judge--simply because they cannot afford bail.

Join us to learn more about...

  • The genesis of money bail and pretrial detention and their impact on marginalized populations
  • The inequities of the criminal punishment system
  • How community bail funds help strengthen poor and underserved people and neighborhoods
